Phew! I swear, I've been colouring this all week
 That's what you get for attempting to put more detail into the fur and feathers than usual... Not sure if it worked though. What do you guys think?  This is an entry for  's contest, of her demon arctic fox character Aurea. She was a challanging draw! I put her in this pose because my wolf/fox paws aren't the best in the world  That and because I wanted to shoew off those beautiful fluffy tails! Hope you like it, though with th other entries I've seen in this contest I don't think mine has much of a chance. No matter - it's the trying that counts!  Any constructive comments, especially on the colouring, is most welcome Comments

 I'm very glad you like it, I was worried you wouldn't like the pose. But now I'm happy!  The wigs were the bit that took the time, I've been painstakingly etching those feathers for three or four days now. -- Everybody deserves a chance to fly... It's more work than I do xD I just whizz in the colour and stick to fur detail! Feathers to me is a nightmare as it is, adding detail would just make it even worse! XD -- Avatar by =Denychie! Hehe
 I do my best! Once you get the maain shapes down, the two layers of long ovals and the one of almost-semicircles, the rest is actually pretty simple Look at some refs and try copying them!What do you think of the fur detail? As real as blue fur like that can get! XD Only thing - I know, I make this mistake as well, but try making the tufts of fur skinnier and more frequent, if that makes sense, so it's less spikey? So thinner and slightly shorter, well, actually, on the tail the length's fine. Just on the mane really x3 -- Avatar by =Denychie! Glad to help

Critiques
The Good - There is a lot of work here in pencil. Obvious hours spent to get the blue part of it to look like feathers without using more pen lines. The feathering on the dark blue is a nice touch too. The dog's face also looks good. It is also good in composition cause it fills the whole page well.
The Bad - There is a lot we can do here to keep going and make it better. From a coloring perspective, we could have added just a bit of some other color to show light or contrast. Maybe even some shading with a darker blue where shadows would fall. That would give this piece more depth and make it more three-dimensional. Same for Inking. I'd like to see some variation in line width of our black lines around the creature. That also adds a sense of 3-D. Background - no background is understandable in some cases but I think almost any background would have helped this pic. Even if it was black.
The Ugly - there is no "Ugly" about this piece. It is well done, colored with a lot of effort and results and is compositionally sound. More could be done to make this pic even better but there is nothing "wrong" in it. Lots of room to grow, but nothing wrong.
